Her second album, A Curious Thing, was released on 8 March 2010. Her third album, Life in a Beautiful Light, wasreleased on 11 June 2012. Her fourth studio album, Under Stars, entered at number two on the Scottish and UK Album Charts.

She is one of the artists who appeared with Ray Davies on his 2010 album See My Friends; she sang with him on a cover of the Kinks’ 60s hit ‘Dead End Street’ Her third album, Life in a Beautiful Light, wasreleased on 11 June 2012. Her fourth studio album, Under Stars, entered at number two on the Scottish and UK Album Charts. It also peaked within the top 10 of the album charts in Germany and New Zealand. The track ‘Youth’ was chosen as the first single featured on BeboiTunes’ ‘Free Single of the Week’ program, This Morning Friday. She won the best newcomer award at the 2014 T in the Park festival in Glasgow. She was inspired by Travis’ song ‘Turn’ and started playing on her father’s guitar when she was 12 years old.

She started playing in pubs and coffee houses around Glasgow at the age of 15, including the Brunswick Cellars on Sauchiehall Street. In 2007 she signed a contract with Vertigo. In 2012 she released her fourth album, ‘Under Stars’ The album sold 3 million copies, and reached No. 1 in the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Denmark. The single, ‘Run’, was also the theme song for the Polish legal drama series ‘Prawo Agaty’. The fifth single ‘The sixth and final single’ was re-release of ‘Poison Prince’ The sixth and last single ‘Run’ was the sixth and sixth single of ‘The 6th and the 6th’ from ‘The 7th and 7th’ The 6th single was the final single of the ‘The 8th and 8th’ album ‘The 9th and 9th’ Macdonald has released three solo albums, all of which were self-titled.
