Alexander Yevgenievich Volkov is a Russian mixed martial artist who competes in the UFC’s Heavyweight division. He made his UFC debut against Timothy Johnson on June 26, 2016. Volkov previously competed almost exclusively for the M-1 Global promotion, as well as Bellator MMA. He is a former heavyweight champion in both promotions.

As of October 26, 2020, he is #6 in theUFC heavyweight rankings. In September 2016, it was announced that Volkov has signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He made his UFC debut against Timothy Johnson on June 26, 2016. He lost the fight via split decision, marking his second consecutive loss being being cut by the UFC.

The fight was the first time Volkov had lost to a UFC fighter since his debut in 2009. He has also fought for the WEC, WBA, WBC, and WBA Bantamweight and Light Heavyweight Championships. Volkov won the WBC Heavyweight Championship in 2012 and 2013, but lost the title to Vitaly Minakov in the co-main event at Bellator 108 on November 15, 2013. He also fought Richard Hale in a 5 round fight for Bellator Season 7 Heavyweight Tournament Final and Bellator Heavyweight title in December 2012. In May 2014, he faced Mighty Mo in the semifinals of Bellator 116 and won the fight by TKO in the first round.
