About Bush (British band) in brief
Bush are a British rock band formed in London, England in 1992. In 1994, Bush found immediate success with the release of their debut album, Sixteen Stone, which is certified 6× multi-platinum by the RIAA. They went on to become one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1990s, selling over 10 million records in the United States and 20 million in the world. Despite their success in the US, the band were considerably less popular in their home country – a period when Britpop groups dominated the UK charts and the appeal of the grunge sound had declined. Bush have had numerous top ten singles on the Billboard rock charts and one No.1 album with Razorblade Suitcase in 1996. The band broke up in 2002 but reformed in 2010, and have released four albums since then: The Sea of Memories, Man on the Run, Black and White Rainbows, and The Kingdom. In late 1996 Bush released the first single from their second album titled Razorblade. Suitcase, which spent seven weeks on top of the Modern Rock Tracks chart. This was followed by the number one album in many European countries, This was Flyedy Flyedy. The album went platinum less than a year after release, three years before Bush later released the remix album Deconstructed. The remix album saw Bush re-arranging their songs into dance and techno stylings. In the U.S., the album featured American engineer Steve Albini, who had worked with Nirvana on their final album, In Utero.
In Europe, Albini worked on the final album for the group’s next tour of Ireland, where he worked on material for the next album, Deconstruct. In Australia, the album was released in many countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. In Canada, the band was initially forced to release Six16 Stone under the name BushX, as the 1970s Canadian band Bush still held the rights to thename Bush in the Canadian market. In 1997, after the band’s second album Razorblade suitcase also bore the X, Rossdale and Troiano directly negotiated an agreement under which the British band were allowed to drop the X in exchange for donating USD 20,000 each to the Starlight Foundation and the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund. The pair recruited bassist Dave Parsons, and drummer Robin Goodridge joined in mid-1993 shortly before Bush were signed. In 2004, the pair recruited drummer Corey Britz, and bassist Nik Hughes to complete the lineup. In 2007, the group released the album Man on The Run. The group have released the single “Swallowed” and the album “The Kingdom’s” second single, “Machinehead”. In 2010, Bush reunited and released the album The Sea Of Memories, which was released the same year as the remix of “Deconstructed’.
