Seth Woodbury MacFarlane is an American actor, writer, producer, and singer. He is the creator of the television series Family Guy and The Orville. In 2020, he was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame. He hosted the 85th Academy Awards in 2013 and was also nominated for Best Original Song for the song “Everybody Needs a Best Friend” from Ted. He won several awards for his work on Family Guy, including five Primetime Emmy Awards and an Annie Award. He was also executive producer of the Neil deGrasse Tyson-hosted Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, an update of the 1980s Cosmos series hosted by Carl Sagan. His younger sister Rachael is also a voice actress. His parents met in 1970, when they both lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts, and married later that year. His roots go back to the 1600s, and he is a descendant of Mayflower passenger William Brewster. He studied animation at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In 2008, he created his own YouTube series titled Seth Macfarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. He went on to work on the writing content of The Life of Larry, which became the inspiration for Family Guy.

In his senior year, he made a film based on the content of A Larry, rather than the film A Larry rather than A Larry. His brother Patrick was a cast member of Family Guy; he performed stand-up comedy during his time at RISD. In 2011, he released six studio albums, in the same vein of his musical idol Frank Sinatra, beginning with Music Is Better Than Words in 2011. In 2013, he won the Webby Award for Film & Video Person of the Year for his animated series American Dad! He has been nominated for five Grammy Awards for his musical work, including Best Song for “Everybody needs a best friend” from “Ted” and “A Million Ways To Die In the West” He has a son, Patrick, who is also an actor, and a daughter, Rachel, who has appeared in several of his films and TV shows. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children. He lives with his parents in a houseboat in the Hamptons, New York City, and has two step-daughters and a step-son. He and his wife have a son and daughter-in-law who live in New Jersey and New York, and have a daughter and step-daughter-inlaw who lives in New Hampshire. In 2010, he moved to Los Angeles to be closer to his wife’s family. In 2012, he began working on a series of independent films, meeting future Family Guy cast member Mike Henry, whose brother was his classmate Mike Henry.
