Tyler Allen Glasnow is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball. He previously played in MLB for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Glasnow was drafted by the Pirates in the fifth round of the 2011 MLB draft. He committed to play college baseball for the University of Portland.

He is the son of Greg and Donna Glasnow, and has an older brother, Ted, who competed as a decathlete for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Men’s Track and Field team.

He attended William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California. He committed to play college baseball for the University of Portland, where he was a member of the football, basketball, and track and field teams. He played for the Gulf Coast Pirates of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League in 2012. In 2013, he started 24 games and finished the season with 9–3 record, a 2. 18 ERA and 164 strikeouts in 111. 1 innings. In 2014, he compiled a 12–5 record and 1. 74 ERA.
