Juwan Howard

Juwan Antonio Howard is the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball team. He was an assistant coach for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association from 2013 to 2019. Howard played in the NBA from 1994 until 2013. He won his first NBA championship with Miami in the 2012 NBA Finals and his second NBA championship in the 2013 NBA Finals. He lives on the South Side of Chicago with his wife and three children.

His grandmother, Jannie Mae Howard, was the daughter of sharecroppers from Belzoni, Mississippi. She had four daughters by her 19th birthday, including Howard’s mother Helena. Howard’s father, Leroy Watson, had just returned from the Army to a phone company job in Chicago. He has no siblings and is not close to his biological parents; his grandmother was the primary influence in his life. He went to Chicago Vocational Career Academy, where he went on to play three seasons of varsity basketball. He also won McDonald’s All American honors and served as the National Honor Society’s homecoming king. He is a member of the American Basketball Coaches Association and the National Association of Basketball Administrators’ Hall of Fame. He lives on the South Side of Chicago with his wife and three children.

He and his wife have a daughter, Katelyn, and a son, Zayden, who is a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The couple have a son and a daughter-in-law, both of whom are active members of the NBA’s Chicago D-League team, the Chicago Bulls. They also have two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Zane, who play for the D- League’s Chicago Stampede team. Howard is married to his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer, and has a daughter with whom he has two children, Kaya and Zayla. The family lives on Chicago’s South Side on 69th Street on the south side of the city. The Howard family has three children, all of whom live in the Chicago South Side projects. Howard also has two step-daughters, Kaley and Kaitlyn, and one step-son, Zane. He currently lives in Chicago with wife Jennifer and their son, Zachary, and his daughter Kaya, who lives with her mother and step-father, Jennifer and her husband, Robert, in a two-bedroom apartment on South Side Chicago. His wife and children live in a three-bedroom home on South East Side of the Chicago neighborhood of Englewood, where she works as a nanny. Howard lives with his mother and his stepfather, Robert Watson, in the same apartment building as his mother, which he shares with his step-daughter, Jennifer. In 2010, he signed with the Heat and entered his 17th NBA season, during which he reached the playoffs for the sixth time.
