In June 1910 Grant exhibited with the Alpine Club at the Alpine Gallery. Later that year Grant was invited by Roger Fry to contribute to the redecoration of the dining room at the Polytechnic, London. He died in London on 17 June 1913. He is buried in the Waverley Cemetery, near Chiswick, London, with his wife, the former Lady Grant, and their two children, the latter of whom he never met. His son, John Grant, is a well-known artist and the son of Sir John Peter Grant, 12th Laird, KCB, GCMG, sometime Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal. Grant is also the first cousin twice removed of John Grant,. 13th Earl of Dysart. Grant was also a friend of the painter Paul Cézanne, and was said to be particularly interested in the paintings of Van Gogh, Gauguin, Matisse and Gogh.
