About Escape from Tarkov in brief

Summary Escape from TarkovEscape from Tarkov is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game in development by Battlestate Games for Windows. A closed alpha test of the game was first made available to select users on August 4, 2016, followed by a closed beta which has been running since July 2017. The game is set in the fictional Norvinsk region in Northwest Russia, where a war is taking place between two private military companies. Players join matches in which they fight other players for loot and aim to survive and escape; dying results in the loss of almost all items the player used and found during that game. While not in a raid, players can sell unwanted loot to traders or other players via the flea market and purchase new equipment. A location is under development and is planned to become the next playable location in the game as of March 2020. There is also an option that would combine all the game’s locations into one open-world gameplay, providing two gameplay modes for the player to choose from – online PMC raids and Scav raids, and a temporary offline mode for offline mode. The developers of Escape from Tarksov refer to the game as a realistic and hardcore first-Person Shooter video game that borrows elements from massively multiplayer online games such as the ARMA series.

The player has fine-grained control over their character’s movement speed and crouch height, and can customize all its constituent parts, such as selecting the dust cover, grip, stock and scope. They can also equip their character with military equipment including armored vests, armored rigs, and bulletproof helmets. Taking damage requires specific types of medical supplies to address wounds, suchas bandages for bleeding. The game models realistic ballistics, including features such as ricochets and bullet penetration, and has a health system, whereby each of the character’s limbs has hit points. A free-roam option is also planned to provide all seven locations within the game into one, providing all the gameplay is also open- world gameplay. There are plans to release the game in March 2020 as a free-to-play version. It is expected to cost around $30 (£20) and will be available in both PC and Mac versions.
