About Andalusian horse in brief

Summary Andalusian horseThe Andalusian, also known as the Pure Spanish Horse or PRE, is a horse breed from the Iberian Peninsula, where its ancestors have lived for thousands of years. In 2010, there were more than 185,000 registered Andalusians worldwide. They are known for their intelligence, sensitivity and docility. There are two characteristics unique to the Carthusian strain, believed to trace back to the stallion’s foundation. The first is the warts under the tail, a trait which Esclavo passed his offspring to prove that a horse was a horse. The second characteristic is the occasional presence of frontal bosses, which are possibly inherited from Asian ancestors. The horses were originally used for classical dressage, driving, bullfighting, and as stock horses. The breed is also used extensively in movies, especially historical pictures and fantasy epics. It is closely related to the Lusitano of Portugal, and has been used to develop many other breeds, especially in Europe and the Americas. It has been recognized as a distinct breed since the 15th century, and its conformation has changed very little over the centuries. The Spanish government has set the minimum height for registration in Spain at 15. 0 hands for males and 14. 3 hands for mares — this standard is followed by the Association of Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders of Spain and the andalusian Horse Association of Australasia.

Andalosians stallions and geldings average 15. 1 1⁄2 hands and 512 kilograms in weight; mares average 15 1 2 hands and 412 kilograms. They have a short back and broad, strong hindquarters with a well-rounded croup. Members of the breed have heads of medium length, with a straight or slightly convex profile. Ultra convex and concave profiles are discouraged in the breed, and are penalized in breed shows. The horse is quick to learn, responsive, and cooperative with respect they are treated with they are under the first warts. The AndalusIAN is a quick, responsive and cooperative horse, with no propensity for blemishes or injuries, and energetic gaits. The mene and tail are thick and long, but the legs do not have excessing. The stallions must stand at least 15.1 1/2 hands at the withers and the mares at least15 1 1/4 hands at the  withers in order for them to be approved as either \”qualified\” or \”élite\” breeding stock. They can be found in many colors, but their most common coat color is gray, although they can be find in many other colors. The breeds are used for many equestrian activities, including dressage,. show jumping and driving, and they are also used in movies. It was once used as a tool of diplomacy by the Spanish government, and kings across Europe rode and owned Spanish horses. There is no genetic evidence for this claim.
