His influences are Chris Addison, Greg Fleet, Rich Hall, Daniel Kitson, Ross Noble and David O’Doherty. His artificial right foot is commonly used as a source of humour in his shows and the comedian has been known to remove it and pass it around. In September 2008, Hills co-hosted the ABC coverage of the 2008 Summer Paralympics. In July 2012, he was part of the Channel 4 team of TV commentary for the UK’s Channel 4 TV show Good News Week. He also appeared on BBC Northern Ireland’s Great Unanswered Questions and was one of three presenters at Australia’s 2005 and 2006 Logie Awards.

He currently lives in Sydney with his wife and two children. He is married to his long-term girlfriend, Australian TV presenter and radio personality, Tracey Curnow. The couple have two children, a son, a daughter and a son-in-law. They have a son and a daughter, both of whom were born in Australia and live in the United States. Hills has appeared on Australian TV shows such as Rove Live, The Glass House and The Buzzcocks, Mock the Week, Ask Ask Gilbert and Ask Fat Gilbert, as well as the first TV edition of Ask Gilbert’s Never Mind the Buzzcock, QI and Fat Gilbert’s QI. He appeared on the Australian version of The Biggest Loser, which aired on ABC1 in September 2013.
