The special is also broadcast in Canada, usually in October in observance of Thanksgiving, with the exception of the Thanksgiving episode of This Is America, Charlie Brown, which aired on November 18, 2013.

The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon revived the special for reairing in the 1990s. In contrast to CBS, ABC aired the special every year through 2019, on various days in the week leading up to Thanksgiving, and it had regularly won its time slot. At the beginning and end of the special, a reading popped up on the screen saying, “This is a Charlie Brown Family Family Family Thanksgiving Special” The special was made possible by Apple TV+. It was also broadcast on PBS and Canada’s Family Channel as early as October 18, 2018, with Canada’s Thanksgiving observance in October.
