Hemmer is the host of the TV show Bill Hemmer Reports and Chief Anchor of the Fox News Channel, based in New York City. He worked at CNN from 1995 to 2005, hosting a number of programs, including American Morning, CNN Tonight, CNN Early Edition, CNN Morning News, and CNN Live Today. He was the network’s lead reporter and anchor from the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, as well as the site of the Boston Marathon bombing in April 2013.

He started dating model Dara Tomanovich in 2005 and the couple have a son, a daughter, and a son-in-law. He has returned to Cincinnati each year to host the George Knittle Memorial Golf Classic named in honor of his grandfather, George F. Knittle, who died at the age of 80 in 2013.
