In 1891 the company moved to a bigger shop in Raffles Place. On November 21, 1972, the Raffle’s Place outlet caught fire and was reduced to a building. The Raffles place store was used as the headquarters of NAAFI Services’ entertainment organisation when the British returned to Singapore in 1945. In the end of 1955, the whole company acquired a 76% stake on John Little and the whole of the John Little franchise in Singapore for the first time in history.
