Leati Joseph Anoa’i is an American professional wrestler, actor, and former professional gridiron football player. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Roman Reigns. After playing college football for Georgia Tech, he played for the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. He then played a full season for the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Eskimos in 2008.

After playing college football for Georgia Tech, he played for the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. He then played a full season for the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Eskimos in 2008 before his release and retirement from football. He signed a contract with WWE in 2010 and was later assigned to their developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling. He made his main roster debut in November 2012 alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins as The Shield. Reigns is a prolific champion in WWE, having held the WWE Championship three times and the WWE Universal Championship twice. He was ranked number one in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s annual PWI 500 list of the top 500 singles wrestlers in 2016. In January 2012, Leakee pinned FCW Heavyweight Champion Leo Kruger in a non-title match. On February 5, he failed to become the number one contender to the Florida Heavyweight Championship. On August 16, he was a competitor in a 30-man battle royal, but was eliminated by Alex Riley. Later in 2011, he formed a tag team with Donny Marlow and Donnylow and unsuccessfully challenged Calvin Raines and Big Langston for the FCW Tag Team Championship on July 8.

On July 8, he won the match, but failed in a triple threat match to win the title. On January 15, he made his televised debut on FCW Grand Prix, in which he was eliminated from the 30-Man Grand Prix after losing to Alex Riley in a three-on-one battle royal. He also appeared on the July 8 episode of FCW FC Heavyweight Grand Prix. He has appeared in several television shows, including The Voice, The Voice Kids, and The Biggest Loser, as a guest star on the second episode of The Big Loser. In August 2013, he appeared in the second season of TLC’s reality series, TLC: The Game, as the guest star of the show’s opening episode. He appeared in two episodes of the series, the first of which was the TLC special, The Game: The Movie, which aired on October 25, 2013, and the second on October 26, 2013. In October 2013, Anoa’i appeared on TLC’s TLC series, The Big Game, which also featured the return of Terence Moore, who had been released by the NFL after being diagnosed with leukemia. In November 2013,  Anoaʻi appeared in a TLC episode of the same series as the first episode of TBS’ The Game. In March 2014, he also appeared in TBS’ The Big Show, as part of a special that aired on TBS. In April 2014,  he appeared on The Voice Show as the host of a TBS special, TBS: Tribute To The Troops.
