Stoffel Vandoorne is a Belgian professional racing driver. He is currently a test driver for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team. In January 2014, he made his debut in GP2, racing with ART. In March 2016, it was announced he would replace regular driver Fernando Alonso at the Bahrain Grand Prix. He will drive for Mercedes-Benz EQ in Formula E from 2017 to 2018.

He had previously competed in Formula One for McLaren until 2018. In January 2014, he made his debut in GP2, racing with ART. In March 2016, it was announced he would replace regular driver Fernando Alonso at the Bahrain Grand Prix after the Spaniard was ruled unfit to drive following a major accident in the previous round. He also took up the driving duties for ART in the GP2 Series. In September 2016, he became the first reserve driver to score on debut for McLaren since Sebastian Vettel at the 2007 United States Grand Prix. He will drive for Mercedes-Benz EQ in Formula E from 2017 to 2018. He previously raced in F4 Eurocup 1. 6 and Formula Renault 2.

0. He has also competed in Super Formula for Dandelion Racing. He was born in Kortrijk, Belgium, and is the son of former Formula One driver Jenson Button. He currently lives in Monte Carlo and Roeselare. He won the Belgian KF2 title in 2009 and the CIK-FIA World Cup in 2009. In 2010, he moved up to single-seater racing. In 2011, he graduated to competing in the Eurocup Formula Renault2. 0 with Kurt Mollekens’ KTR team. For the 2012 season, he won the championship by ten points after a tight battle between himself and Red Bull-backed Daniil Kvyat. In 2013, he replaced 2012 champion Robin Frijns at Fortec Motorsport. He finished runner-up to current Haas driver Kevin Magnussen with four wins and 10 podiums, including a victory at his home track of Spa-Francorchamps.
