John Herbert Jock Bowes-Lyon was the second son of the 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. He married the Hon. Fenella Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis and had five daughters. He died of pneumonia, aged 44, in February 1930.
