He and Joe Egan formed the group Stealers Wheel in 1972 and produced several hits, most notably ‘Stuck in the Middle with You’ He later recorded his second solo album ‘City to City’ in 1978, which included his most popular song. He died in 2011 at the age of 69. He is survived by his daughter, Martha, and son-in-law, Jim. He was married to his long-term girlfriend, the late Joanne McAlister, until her death in 2011.
